Tutorial for Making Vintage wreaths for Christmas!!!!

You start with a grapevine or any wreath and of course the trusty old glue gun...and lots of glue sticks....

Lots of Shiny Brite vintage bulbs if you have them...but you can use any old or new bulbs you may have.  I look all year for old bulbs...Their colors and age make a big difference in how it looks when finished.

Wrap the wreath with tinsel before you start gluing the bulbs on starting with large bulbs on outer edge of wreath and working in. You may have to glue some bulbs together to secure them better on wreath.

Here are two wreaths I did of the above tutorial. The heart shaped wreath was for my granddaughter, Emily's room.  I found it one day when I happened to be in Goodwill....for 50 cents....My camera doesn't do either of them  justice but I love how they turned out and can't wait to do another one to give as a present to a very special friend of mine....Merry Christmas!!!!!

Comments!!!

My beautiful talented favorite daughter fixed my comments so people can showe me the love!!!!!!

THE PRAIRIE: AND RACHEL ASHWELL

Sad that the Round Top/Warrenton Antique Festival is over, but happy to be able to share with everyone one of the most enchanting experiences I have ever had at the  Prairie by Rachel Ashwell recently with 33 other lady bloggers. My daughter, Lesley and I, were fortunate enough to attend this luncheon and tour Rachel’s Shabby Chic Couture™ Store and B and B in Round top, Texas.

I can only describe it as magical!!!! Rachel’s designer touches are everywhere....Rachel is genuine, funny and one of the most unpretentious hostesses I have had the privilege to meet...We could not stop taking pictures of the inside and outside of this wondrous place…and neither could the other ladies walking around with cameras around their necks capturing the wonders she has created…Lesley and I both share a love for treasures from the past, old houses, lush bedding, architectural work and old art. Oh, and did I mention mounted deer heads? We are now looking for hats for all of ours…thanks to Rachel…

The fabulous lunch was provided by the famous Bud Royer, owner of Royer's Round Top Cafe and it was delicious….not to mention the desert…It was heavenly and I love the fact that Bud took the time to hang in there with us  until the last shot was fired. It had to be a little scary as he was outnumbered by 45 ladies. Thanks to this luncheon we learned about Dwell with Dignity, a nonprofit Dallas based group of designers dedicated to helping families escape poverty and homelessness through design. Lesley and I both are excited about helping with this organization in the future.

I want to thank Rachel, Bud, Kelley, Dana and everyone that made this luncheon so memorable for my daughter and I and for all the wonderful stores (Rachel Ashwell, Texas Live Magazine, Hermann Furniture, The Buzy B, Tili bags, HGTV, Sunsoulart, Junk Gypsy, Roundtop Natural Soap, Mimi Bella, Buffalo  Creek, Independence Coffee) that provided the goodie bags for us….Hope to see all of you in the near future through emails and our blogs. Hope everyone found lots of treasures in Warrenton and Round Top and had a safe trip home. Hope to see you all at the Spring Antique Show!!!!
My pictures are not as good as some of the wonderful bloggers that attended so please check out my blog roll and see their posts too!!!

Lunch on the Prairie with Rachel Ashwell and fellow bloggers!!!!!

My daughter, Lesley and I are tickled pink to be attending a blogging luncheon at Rachel Ashwell's The Prairie along with 33 other bloggers on September 26th!!!!  We are getting our cameras ready to  capture the delights of The Prairie by Rachel Ashwell, and getting to experience a catered lunch by "The Pie Man" Bud Royer' along with a piece of his world famous pie!

A portion of the cost of the lunch is benefiting 'Dwell With Dignity'.  Dwell With Dignity was recently featured in a full-length segment of the Nate Burkus Show.

This is my son and I with my grandsons after eating to much pie at Royers!

Thank you Kelley from The Hidden List for letting us be a part of this special day!
